INET Gallery Features

  • Multiple Galleries
Can be configured for a single gallery.

  • Gallery Security
    • Galleries can only be edited by their owner/creator and assigned moderators/editors.
    • Only owners/creators, moderators, user assigned 'editors' and user assigned 'uploaders' are allowed to upload media into their galleries.
    • Gallery security can be set up in the options for Moderators, Add Gallery and Add Media permissions for global use but individual galleries can have their own security permissions set.
    • Galleries can be made private/secure by selecting which user groups and individual users can view the gallery and upload media into the gallery. Likewise, galleries can also be set to allow unregistered users to upload media, although this is not recommended unless moderators have been configured.
    • Moderators and page editors can still see private/secure galleries.
    • Galleries can be set as moderated, or not.  This is a global option.

  • Bulk Upload
Media in a ZIP file can be uploaded for ease of setting up a gallery.  ZIP files are automatically uncompressed and any supported file types will be processed and added to the specified gallery.  If no media title is given, the media filename, minus the extension, is used to name the media.

  • Media Auto Resize
    • Uploaded images are resized on upload if bigger than a specifed maximum amount to save disk/web space, default 2048 x 1536
    • Gallery thumbnails are resized on upload if bigger than a specifed maximum amount, default 160 x 120
    • The display of media can also be set independently of the maximum upload amount for faster download speed, default 800 x 600

  • Media Caching
Images and images thumbnails can be cached for faster display.
NOTE: This could possibly fill your alloted disk/web space depending on the size of your galleries.

  • Import/Export
    • Import of gallery options can be switched on/off on the options page.
    • Export the galleries to XML, including images for portability, using the standard DNN Export function.
    • Can customise export so only specific galleries and their media will be exported.
    • The export of media can be turned off on the options page.
    • The export of media is limited by file size on the options page, default 10485760 bytes (10Mb).
      NOTES:
XML file size can be quite large depending on maximum size for uploaded images and the size of your galleries.
The export can timeout if the media size is quite large hence the file size limitation.  If a timeout occurs, this can corrupt the export file.

  • Slideshow
Slideshow feature with Play/Pause, Stop, Next Image and Previous Image buttons.

  • RSS Feeds
